For some reason the login screen comes up when I boot and it is
completely greyed out.
It has the user name, field greyed out along with the password field,
and all of the buttons.

Anyone have any ideas how to correct this. Apparently someone tried to
install SP4 and it kinda crapped out. The login screen did not
previously appear, it just auto-logged in the user (my boss).

Joe,
Do you have the ability to hit 'OK' or 'Cancel'? If so, you may not have
multiple users on the computer, and that may cause the issue. It also, could
have been caused by still allowing the user to automatically login, but
someone could have turned the login screen on and caused one of these
issues. I'm not really sure, since I don't have a install of 2000 at the
current time.
