| Sure, you're not alone!
| I'd even say: the W2K community is growing, since…
| - It is a rock solid system
| - It doesn't need loads of resources, and therefore…
| - It runs on older machines, for about two decades, already (x386+)
| - Though it’s a Windows system, it can be tweaked rather easily
| - You can control background activities when surfing, e.g.
| - Finally, yet importantly, there are tons of free, tested by millions of
| users, apps, tools, gadgets, etc. And you can still find old, well
| experienced proggers out there, so you will find a solution for almost any
| problem.
| On the other hand,
| - It needs more administrative activity to fine-tune the system for
| non-IT-professional use (i.e. for non-administrative users). However, it is
| possible. (And I guess, it's much easier than with a Linux system, anyway.)
| - It's not harmless, in the hands of some kids or foreign IT professionals.
| ;-) But it's always the same with weapons: for the one, it is dangerous, and
| for the other one, it gives more security.

| | I am just keeping an old laptop alive for occasional work at home. XP
| became
| | unusable with the updates and anti virus running, I have been round the
| | houses a bit with downgrading to ME, then dual booting different versions
| of
| | linux and Win98. Now seem to be settled on win2k which is working well.
| | Win2k is what the laptop had on it when it was new.
