I have a problem with some adware that keeps popping a window up directing
me to various dodgty websites, claiming my registry needs cleaning.

Having failed to get rid of it with various adware removal tools, I thought
that if I formatted the partition (dual boot PC - W98 on C: and W2000 on D:)
and reinstalled Windows 2000 (it only happens when I'm using W2000), that
would solve it. I assumed the registry would be erased when I formatted the
D: partition.

Unfortunately it's still happening. Was I wrong in my assumptions about
formatting the registry?

Thanks
